Seven guided practices · eight audio files

What if you could return to the question in front of you?

A different kind of exam support

You do not have to feel perfectly calm to take the next useful step.

This collection does not ask you to empty your mind. It helps you return to your feet, your breath, and what is actually happening.

This is for you if…

  • You sit down to study, but your mind is still carrying the workday, the family logistics, or even the last thing that happened before you opened the notes.
  • A difficult practice score turns into a bigger story about whether you are capable, instead of showing you what to study next.
  • You keep reaching for one more review because putting the material away feels like trusting preparation you cannot hold all at once.
  • You want something practical for the moment urgency or overthinking appears, not a promise that the butterflies in the tummy have to disappear first.

What's inside Grounded Exam Prep

A practice for each part of the journey

Before You Study: Arrive and Focus · 12 minutes

Arrive before you ask yourself to focus

Move from the rest of the day into one study session without expecting yourself to become instantly productive. This is the free introductory practice.

After a Difficult Practice Set: Reset and Learn · 8–10 minutes

Let a difficult score become useful information

Step out of the frustration spiral, separate missed questions from your capability, and choose the next useful area of study.

Before a Timed Practice Exam: Settle and Trust · 8–10 minutes

Practice the pressure without turning it into a verdict

Settle before a realistic timed practice, read carefully, choose, and continue without making one score a judgment of your coaching ability.

The Night Before the Exam: Let Preparation Be Enough · 12–15 minutes

Put the notes down and let preparation be enough

Interrupt the one-more-review loop, let your body settle, and stop actively holding everything you already studied.

Exam Morning: Grounded and Ready · 12–15 minutes

Meet exam morning as it is actually happening

Move from ‘What if?’ to ‘What is happening?’ with mental rehearsal, a plan for a difficult question, and room for nervousness to come with you.

The 60-Second Reset: Pause and Refocus · Two audio files

Learn a reset you can use without headphones

Learn the Pause, Ground, Refocus method in a guided 4–5 minute rehearsal, then practice it with an exact 60-second drill you can memorize and use silently.

After the Exam: Release and Reflect · 8–10 minutes

Come out of the exam before you replay it

Acknowledge either result, give your body time to settle, and delay decisions about what comes next until you are ready to make them.

Trey Henderson
So one of the things I usually talk about is presence…

I'm Trey.

I'm an ICF PCC coach, mentor coach, meditation facilitator, agile coach, and trainer, and I built CoachPrep because studying for a credential can become this whole forest of competencies, practice scores, timelines, and questions about whether you are doing enough.

Honestly, I do not think the answer is to fix every nervous feeling before you move. Sometimes the useful thing is much smaller: feel your feet, notice your breath, read what the question is actually asking, and choose what fits this moment.

That is what these practices are here to help with. They hold space for the part of exam preparation that another practice set cannot, then they hand you back to the studying. I just do my thing, make the next tool, and keep moving.

Frequently asked.

Is this for ACC, PCC, or MCC candidates?

All three. The language stays universal across credential levels. The reset works with knowledge questions and situational judgment items because it brings you back to what the question is actually asking.

Is this supposed to treat anxiety?

No. Grounded Exam Prep supports attention, grounding, and recovery. It is not mental-health treatment, and it does not promise that nervousness will disappear.

Can I listen during the actual exam?

Plan to use the reset silently, without a recording or personal device. You learn and rehearse it beforehand so it is available when you need it. Always follow the current rules in your official exam-day instructions.

What is included in the complete collection?

Seven guided practices delivered through eight audio files, written transcripts for every practice, and a one-page Pause, Ground, Refocus reference card.

Does this guarantee I will pass?

No. It cannot predict or guarantee an official exam result. It is designed to help you return to your attention, use what you prepared, and recover when a practice set or a question feels difficult.

Can I try Trey's voice first?

Yes. Before You Study: Arrive and Focus is free. Listen as often as you like and decide whether this style of guidance is useful before the full collection becomes available.

For the full-length practices, do not listen while driving or during activities requiring your full attention.

Open the notes after you arrive.

Start with the free 12-minute introductory practice. Nothing to complete. Nowhere else to be.
